Who We Are J 4:14 Water

Mission "J 4:14's mission is to provide safe, healthy and sustainable water giving life and life eternal to a sick and dying world in the name of Jesus Christ."

What’s Our Story

In 2008, the seeds of J 4:14 Water were planted. At the time, founder Steve Gough was deeply engaged in developing a breakthrough water-filtration technology designed to improve efficiency in residential and industrial applications. It was cutting-edge, innovative—and headed toward a purely commercial future.

Then came the moment that changed everything.

One Sunday morning, a faith-based organization visited Steve’s class and shared staggering statistics about the global water crisis—the sickness, the suffering, and the millions of preventable deaths caused by contaminated and polluted water sources, particularly throughout developing nations. Nearly one billion of God’s children were affected.

As Steve listened, something clicked.

He realized the very technology he was creating—still in its early stages—held the potential to become a solution for one of the world’s most devastating humanitarian challenges. That clarity became the “Ah-Ha” moment that redirected not just his work, but his life’s mission.

Since then, the technology—now known as NanoClean—has evolved into a global breakthrough in water filtration. Its impact continues to grow rapidly across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. But the vision has always extended beyond business.

Today, NanoClean is at the heart of the mission of J 4:14 Water: bringing sustainable, life-giving water to communities in need, in the name of Jesus Christ. The technology that began in a laboratory now stands as a tool of hope, healing, and transformation—fulfilling the purpose Steve envisioned more than a decade ago.

J 4:14 Water exists because innovation met calling.
And because one moment of clarity revealed a mission far greater than technology alone.

Who We Are

At J 4:14 Water, we share one calling: to serve. Our mission is to bring safe, healthy, and sustainable water to communities in desperate need—delivering both physical life and the message of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Around the world, countless villages rely on polluted or depleted water sources that are unsafe and unable to sustain basic human life. J 4:14 Water stands in that gap. Through advanced, breakthrough water-filtration technologies and system solutions, we provide clean, life-giving water to second- and third-world communities where the need is greatest.

We partner with global innovators such as NanoClean and collaborate with a network of faith-based organizations dedicated to addressing one of the world’s most urgent humanitarian and ecological crises. Together, we fight the preventable sickness and suffering caused by contaminated water—impacting millions of God’s children.

Each installation is more than a technological upgrade—it’s a moment of ministry. Through baptisms using freshly purified water, we present these life-changing systems in the name of Jesus Christ, opening the door for individuals and families to encounter His promise of hope, restoration, and everlasting life.

J 4:14 Water is committed to bringing clean water to the world.

But more importantly, we are committed to bringing Christ’s love to the world—one village, one family, one soul at a time.

STEVE GOUGH FOUNDER

Steve Gough was raised in Murray, Kentucky where he graduated from Murray State University with an undergraduate degree in Engineering Physics. He spent over 2 decades heading international businesses at Texas Instruments developing highly complex microprocessors, single-chip GPS and world-class 3D video display systems that are still deployed in Cinema theaters around the world today. In 2008 Steve witnessed a presentation in his Sunday school class that enlightened him on the incredulous facts of water contamination and it’s massive impact on lives and health of billions of people around the world. That changed everything and was the beginning of his ultimate vision to develop and deploy patented water filtration systems capable of turning severely contaminated water into clean healthy drinking water which could help bring an end to this massive worldwide socioeconomic injustice
